Why we built this

Most launch-video advice is anecdote: a few viral examples and a lot of opinions. We wanted counts instead. So we gathered 600 public launch posts from X and tagged what each video does in its first seconds. Every number on this site sits next to its sample size, so you can judge how much to trust it.

  1. 600 launch videos

Public launch posts from X, mostly AI and B2B startups.

  2. Tagged by opening

Category, hook style and when each beat lands, for every video.

  3. Counted, not guessed

Every median and count is computed from the data, shown with its sample size.

What’s here

600 product and company launch videos posted on X between Jan 9, 2026 and Oct 1, 2026.

We publish

  • Facts: company, a short excerpt of the post text, view count, runtime, post date and a link to the original post
  • Our labels: category and hook style
  • The spoken opening line, at most 25 words
  • Timings: when the company or product is first named, the first demo, the call to action, words per minute
  • Our own AI-assisted notes on why it worked and the takeaway
  • One still frame per video as its thumbnail, linked to the original post

We don’t publish

  • Video files: every video plays from X through its official embed
  • Full transcripts or transcript excerpts beyond the opening line
  • Anything from X until you click to load the official embed

Limits

  • Views are raw, not normalized for audience size, and the videos are a selection rather than a random sample.
  • Labels are AI-assisted and not checked by hand; some are wrong.
  • Beat timings miss some moments: “not detected” means it wasn’t found, not that it never happened.
  • 2 videos without a view count and 3 without a runtime are listed but left out of medians.
